Makar Sankranti

Makar Sankranti is a Hindu festival celebrated in India and other parts of the world. It marks the transition of the Sun into the Makara Rashi (Capricorn sign) in the Hindu calendar. It is also known as the Kite Festival, as people fly colourful kites to celebrate the occasion.
